        CANSkate Season 2024-25

 

CanSkate is Skate Canada's introductory skating program, designed for beginners of all ages, focusing on fun, participation, and fundamental skill development. Participants earn ribbons and badges as they master new skills. Skaters receive instruction in a group format from Skate Canada professional coaches, assisted by trained program assitants.

Fall/Winter Sessions

Monday and Friday Evenings
5:40 - 6:30 pm

Note: Adults that wish to skate, please see our Adult session on Monday evenings. 18+

Registration opens 12:01 am September 1st, 2024

Equipment Requirements:
- Properly fitting figure skates or hockey skates (No molded/plastic skates recommended)
- For skate fitting, view this helpful video: [Video Link]
- CSA-approved hockey helmet (cage is optional)
- Waterproof mittens or gloves (hockey gloves are not permitted)
- Warm clothing (avoid bulky snowsuits)
- No scarves
- Skate guards are recommended to protect blades and flooring.

      STARSkate Season 2024-25

 

STARskate offers opportunities for skaters to develop fundamental figure skating skills in areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating. This program teaches figure skating in a group format. Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Tests through a nationally standardized testing system.

Monday 4- 5:30  (choose 1 or both sessions)

Friday 4 - 5:30 (choose 1 or both sessions)

STARSkate offers private skating lessons, providing skaters with one-on-one coaching from a professional coach of their choosing. 

The Fall/Winter Sessions are set to commence in Mid September 2024.

Adult Session: This season, we are excited to offer a program for individuals 18 years and older.

The program caters to all skill levels, from complete beginners to more experienced skaters. Professional coach Karen Collins will be present to provide guidance and instruction. It's an opportunity to acquire new skills, engage in exercise, and enjoy some fun.

Session begin in September - Monday 7:30 - 8:20 pm

Equipment:   *hockey helmet, figure or hockey skates.

* helmet required for skaters that have not completed the CANskate level 5
